NPTCBC Skills & Training

Established in Neath in 1982, NPTCBC Skills & Training has been working as part of Local Authority Government, working for and with the local community by delivering a wide range of quality learning and training programmes. These programmes are aimed at suiting the modern training needs of local residents, employers and their employees.

In 2009, NPTCBC Skills & Training were a founding member of Skills Academy Wales (SAW). SAW are a diverse range of outstanding and like-minded providers and was established as the first Work Based Learning consortium of its kind in Wales. Led by NPTC Group, SAW offers provision for the delivery of Work Based programmes throughout North, Mid and South Wales. In 2016, SAW was the highest performing Apprenticeship provider in Wales.

In 2014 NPTCBC Skills & Training relocated to the Tir Morfa Centre on Marine Drive, Port Talbot, from where we continue to deliver non-statutory services across the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, Swansea Bay and Bridgend regions, engaging with approximately 300 learners and job seekers at any one time.

Through the delivery of specialist Work Based Learning programmes and bespoke commercial training, NPTCBC Skills & Training provide opportunities for 14-65 year olds to develop employability skills, improve on Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills, complete vocational experience, achieve nationally recognised qualifications and gainful employment.

This partnership helps to ensure that young people can access this extremely valuable resource. In 2015, The Prince’s Trust awarded NPTCBC Skills & Training with the prestigious title of “Best Delivery Partner in Wales”.
